The Security Advisor- China, assigned to a specific client, will offer logistical and linguistic support to enhance security operations and mitigate risks within the assigned country. This role coordinates with local authorities, conducts risk assessments, delivers detailed security reviews, provides emergency planning advice, and trains staff to ensure a secure working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Pinkerton's core values of integrity, vigilance, and excellence.
  • Provide logistical and linguistic support to the Regional Security Manager(RSM), foundation travelers, leadership and the China Country Office (CCO) as agreed upon by the RSM and Operations Manager.
  • Maintain local PoC to manage engagement with Chinese LEA (Law Enforcement Visits) and Building Security.
  • Mitigate physical and operational security risks to staff and operations.
  • Provide local risk analysis and support emergency response readiness.
  • Deliver quarterly security reviews and advisory to Regional Security Manager (RSM).
  • Reporting: Deliver weekly/monthly reports as defined by the RSM and Senior Analyst.
  • Conduct ongoing threat and risk assessments tailored to the China context.
  • Provide advice on security protocols, emergency planning and provide support to CCO ops as needed during events, fire drills etc.
  • Support incident management by serving as a key advisor to the RSM during crises.
  • Provide training and briefings to staff and short-term visitors.
  • Liaise with vetted local security vendors authorities and building management as needed.
  • Monitor local developments (political, social, regulatory) that may affect operations or personnel.
  • Deliver regular monthly updates and quarterly risk reports to the Global Security team.
  • All other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, with a minimum three plus years of experience in security, risk management, or law enforcement, with work in China or East Asia. Experience in international organizations or consulting on a part-time/retainer basis. This role is ideal for a security professional with deep knowledge of the Chinese security environment, and a demonstrated ability to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions in dynamic settings.   • Able to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexible to changing work environment and adaptive.
  • Strong grasp of local security and regulatory landscapes, including NGO-related compliance.
  • Able to operate under a confidentiality and service agreement.
  • Able to work independently and respond rapidly to emerging issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Mandarin proficiency must.
